Fire Service
The Firefighter Air Coalition serves firefighters, company officers, chief officers, trainers, and fire departments committed to giving firefighters the air they need to do their job and make it home.
Through training, research, education, and advocacy, FAC brings together some of the fire service’s most respected instructors, operational leaders, and subject matter experts to address one of the most fundamental requirements of firefighting: breathable air.
Our programs focus on the realities of today’s fireground, from high-rise and mid-rise buildings to massive commercial and warehouse occupancies where distance, time, and air supply can directly impact rescue, suppression, and firefighter survival.
We believe firefighters should never run out of air before they run out of work. By advancing responsible air management, operational readiness, and practical air resupply solutions, we help firefighters complete the mission and return home safely.
Code Compliance Professionals
The Firefighter Air Coalition works alongside code officials, fire marshals, standards developers, engineers, and building safety professionals to better understand how today’s evolving built environment affects firefighter safety and operational effectiveness.
As buildings continue to grow in size, complexity, and demand, important questions are emerging about firefighter air supply, travel distances, incident duration, and the ability to sustain operations in large and complex occupancies. FAC is committed to working collaboratively with the code community to identify these challenges, evaluate available data, and explore practical, evidence-based solutions.

Risk Reduction
Communities across the country are experiencing unprecedented growth in building size, scale, and complexity. As structures continue to grow larger and more sophisticated, decisions made during planning and design can have a lasting impact on both occupant protection and firefighter operations. FAC helps connect the building community with fire service expertise, providing insights into the operational challenges firefighters face in large-footprint warehouses, industrial facilities, high-rise buildings, and other complex occupancies.

Our Mission
As advocates for firefighter air safety we provide education and training focused on air management strategies, tactics and best practices with a focus on associated air supply technologies to extend a firefighter’s air supply. Without a breathable air supply there is no interior attack. Today’s mega-size buildings and structures make firefighter air resupply challenging which can ultimately limit firefighting capabilities.
Best practices and advanced air supply technologies provide firefighters with More Air for More Time to prevent exposures to toxic fire smoke.
